A Sense of "Security"

He did it! He has passed all academic tests and his final physical fitness assessment! This means he is guaranteed to graduate February 20th! Flight tickets have been purchased so now I officially start counting down! I'm hoping to hear from him later this week as they have been given phone privileges for more than just Sunday!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm!!

More Pictures!

Here are a couple more pictures of David and some of his fellow Officer Candidates that Chrissy emailed me this evening!

Thanks Chrissy!!

8 down, 4 to go!

That's right...David has successfully completed 8 of the 12 weeks at OCS! Tomorrow is a big day because not only is it the start week 9, it is also the day they get "secured" meaning they can no longer be rolled back. They have their final PFA (personal fitness assessment) in the morning and if they pass, they're secured. This ensures his graduation on February 20th! I am so proud of David for he is one of only a few who have managed to stay with the original 09-09 class without ever being rolled!

Remember Chrissy? Well she and her 2-year-old daughter got up at the break of dawn (actually...I think even earlier than that) and drove 3.5 hours to visit her husband at the chapel at OCS. Not only did she visit her husband Jayson, but she took a picture of David and emailed it to me! I can't thank her enough for this!

I love Sundays because I know I'll get a phone call from David, which I did! He sounded really good and said everyone is preparing themselves for Monday's PFA. He said "no news is good news" as far as tomorrow goes and that if I don't hear from him, to hurry and purchase those plane tickets!!

My Fellow 09-er Wife!

Last week, something really great happened; I found Chrissy! Who is she you ask? Well, she happens to be the wife of an OC (Officer Candidate) in David's class (09-09). We found each other on a website made available for families of military Officers. We're quickly realizing we are very much alike and email back and forth at least a couple of times a day! It's so nice to have found someone going through the exact same experience!

Welcome to the blog!

Hi Everyone!

I've never done one of these blogs before but thought it'd be an excellent way to keep everyone updated on David's status while at OCS as well as my status while he's away. I probably should have started this blog awhile ago but it's better late than never right :)

Enjoy!
