Wonderful Trip Home

During my spring break, David and I were able to take a few days and fly back home to see family and friends. It was so nice to go home again and see everyone - what's crazy is to think that the next time we're home, we will very likely be plus one :) We spent the first couple of days hanging out with our families, even had a mini-shower at my aunt's house in Moberly which was so sweet. On Saturday, April 23rd, David and I had our second baby shower hosted by Grandma Nancy and Grandma Pam. This amazing event took place at the Gardner's house which was decorated so perfectly and so cozy - couldn't have been better! We had an amazing turnout of family and friends who showered us with so many goodies for Madelyn! She is going to be one stylin' chic that's for sure. It's a day I will certainly never forget, we feel so lucky and blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives and supporting this pregnancy. We ended up flying home on Easter Sunday but before we headed out, we were able to get both families together for an Easter brunch at Golden Corral - YUM-O! It was the perfect trip home...could have lasted a few days longer but for the time we were given, it was perfect. Here are some pictures of our trip home - enjoy!

Easter Brunch with the families

These were my blankets as a baby, mom washed them up and sent them home with us so we can use them with Madelyn!

Aunt Vee has already made Madelyn a little Diva :)

She's ready for the beach!

They were pretty excited to find out Madelyn's name!

The amazing grandma hosts :)

Beautiful cake and decorations!

David was busy hanging streamers and balloons!

Here are the cupcakes from our mini-shower in Moberly, mmm.

We wrapped the grandparent's gifts in these bags to announce what Baby G's name is going to be!

Nursery Progress!

This weekend we were able to find furniture for the nursery! We found a great deal at Babies R Us where they were having 20% off all of the nursery furniture...couldn't pass that up :) We ended up purchasing a crib, changing table, dresser, and glider! They had to order everything but the glider so it should all be ready to be picked up in a week or so...then the fun of putting it all together starts. Here are some pics of the furniture taken from the Babies R Us website!

David already has the nursery painted and the valance hung! It's really starting to come together and I couldn't be more excited!! Here's some of his amazing work :)

I have been eyeing some wooden letters that are commonly used in nurseries to spell out a baby's name. After explaining to David what I was hoping to do, he spent a few hours today whipping up these beautiful wooden letters!! I never doubted his ability but never dreamed he'd knock out the project today - great mother's day gift don't you think? Here's a picture of him in action and the finished letters. Next step, painting the letters to match the nursery theme (wish us luck!)

Almost 24 Weeks!

It's been about three weeks since our last belly picture so here's an update for you! We've just about hit the 6 month mark (Tuesday), crazy isn't it?!? Everything seems to be progressing perfectly, little Madelyn is constantly moving around which is still the most amazing feeling. My next check-up is May 19th where they will measure my belly again and we'll get to hear her heartbeat! At last month's appointment my belly measured 21" and her heart was thumping away at around 143 beats per minute. I'm hoping we can do another 3D ultrasound before too long...somewhere around week 29 or so - I'm anxious to see what she's looking like these days :)

Enjoy the pics!
